Founder and CEO of CAL Cloud SdnBhd (CALTRIX), Alfred Ang discussed their strategy to scale up Cloud Accounting adoption in Malaysia.
FREMONT, CA: Alfred Ang, founder and CEO of CAL Cloud SdnBhd (CALTRiX), an SMP and leading Xero Gold Partner and Xero Certified Advisor specializing in retail and ecommerce industries said that over the next three years, there will be a exponential growth in adoption of cloud accounting by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and they plan to scale up in order to help more Malaysians streamline their workflow. Ang conveyed this after attending the Xero Asia Roadshow 2021 earlier this month, which was hosted remotely on International Accountant's Day.
Kevin Fitzgerald, Managing Director of Xero Asia, presented Xero's outstanding growth in client numbers and usage in the area, which has increased exponentially over the previous fiscal year. Furthermore, he also started how Xero, across the region, is dedicated to capacity building programmes, and is collaborating with governments on Cloud First initiatives. In its 2021 Best Practices Awards, Frost & Sullivan, a worldwide research and consulting organization, awarded Xero the 2021 Asia-Pacific SME Accounting Software Vendor of the Year. Additionally the collaboration between Xero and the Asia Cloud Computing Association (ACCA) to develop advisor certification programmes in Singapore to enhance the next generation of accounting professionals was announced by Fitzgerald.
Under a public-private partnership between the Ministry of Finance's Cradle Grant and Proficeo, CALTRiX is one of 577 Coach n Grow grant alumni (Cohort 5). He further added how he was the one to start the company, to promote Cloud Accounting to small and medium-sized businesses. A significant difficulty for them was to deal with corporate directors who are resistant to change since they are accustomed to desktop/offline accounting software. In their experience, they know that switching to cloud-based systems like Xero takes about three months. The Coach n Grow programme has helped him improve his lead generation, business communication, and business metrics to do profitability measurement. Furthermore, the need for cloud accounting solutions is evident, and they are developing their business to accommodate the market, expecting to triple their sales revenue by the end of fiscal year 2023. He believes in the product and market acceptability is evident in Xero's H1 FY22 performance, with operational revenue increasing by 23 percent yearly to 505.7 million dollars.
