FREMONT, CA: Sharon Fernandez was promoted to head the company's Insurance Division by Buckle, a tech-enabled financial services firm. She comes from Farmers Business Insurance, where she recently worked as president, producing $2.1 billion in sales from a wide range of commercial insurance products for small and medium-sized markets. Before spending almost 13 years at Farmers, Sharon represented USAA in different executive positions for 18 years. She will be reporting to Marty Young, the co-founder, and CEO of Buckle.

"Sharon's background represents an ideal fit for this newly created position as Head of Buckle Insurance with her broad property and casualty (P&C) background in both consumer and commercial lines."
Sharon has held the president of a $1 billion gross written premium (GWP) personal lines, non-standard auto insurer, the Farmers' Bristol West non-standard Insurance Division. She was even Head of Operations for Farmers Insurance Company, which consists of brands with management control of 3000+ employees of the Farmers, Foremost, Bristol West, and 21st Century brands.
Sharon was Head of Human Resources P&C at USAA before joining Farmers and offered HR leadership and guidance for the company's P&C business. She was also Executive of Sales and Policy Service and oversaw the largest P&C policy service, sales, and billing team of USAA in a dynamic, multi-site call center setting.

Sharon has master's degrees from the University of Texas A&M and St. Mary's University. She also earned her undergraduate degree from St. Mary's. She pursued executive programs at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and Texas at Austin.
Sharon supports Buckle's other recent significant new hires, including Kristi Matus as CFO/COO, Jeff Nash as General Counsel, Bill Breslin as President, Buckle TPA, and Digital Partners CEO Andy Rear as Chairman of the Board.
